Guided by the City's Green Ribbon Advisory Committee, the SustainableGVL Plan aims to protect our natural resources, improve the health of the region's watersheds and reduce the City's carbon footprint.
Public involvement will be a critical piece of the project. The City will use surveys and public meetings to offer opportunities for participation. Subscribe (at right) to receive regular updates on the work.
September 9, 2021, 6-8 p.m. at Roper Mountain Science Center, 402 Roper Mountain Road, Greenville – A drop-in style open house will provide the public with the opportunity to share ideas about how the city and the community can become more environmentally friendly.
October 2021 – Creation of draft plan
November 2021 – Presentation of draft plan to GRAC and City Council
December 2021 – Draft plan public comment period
Early 2022 – Plan finalized and presented to City Council for adoption
